"When I was painting this piece I thought of all the wonderful times we had when we visited you. When I am at work at the 'Shanties' in the summer this was one of the boats I looked out at. It is the same size as the one you have. The clothing on the line caught my attention as could imagine David washing his socks out and hanging them up to dry........."

Linda's Retirement Party-No more VCCS dress code

Mary Ann and Hayden Basse in Kayak Adventure morning of April 14, 2006. Our house is on point to right in background. Mary Ann is forging ahead to the shore for the traditional Caldwell "Making Landfall" restroom ceremony. 

Captain Hayden Basse: Master of the Chesapeake Bay and the ultimate authority on his ship. Not shown are his crew of 100 tiny people below decks (notice black cabin entrance on deck) preparing a virtual feast for the Captain when he reaches port.  Note the expression of authority.
